PRESS RELEASE
The Indian steel industry is evolving fast and with it, the data reporting system. Joint Plant
Committee (JPC), the official custodian for iron and steel data in the country,
has geared itself up to respond to the rapid changes in the dynamics of
industry and re-design its database and data reporting system, accordingly.

The 21st Steel Consumer Council meeting was held on 20th August 2007 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi under the chairmanship of
Hon’ble Minister of Steel, Sri Ram Vilas Paswan. Attended by officials of Ministry of Steel, which included among others, Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Steel, leading steel producers,
steel producing associations of the secondary sector, members representing States/UTs and media experts, government officials, the 21st Steel Consumer Council meeting organized by JPC under the aegis of
Ministry of Steel, saw discussions and deliberations of key issues pertaining to the growth of the Indian iron and steel industry with an attempt to resolve the bottlenecks therein. |
